newborn lifestyle shoot at home {london}

Almost two years ago I photographed the wedding of Emma and Tom at St William of York in Forest Hill – a fantastic day surrounded by wonderful family and friends. So I was absolutely delighted when they asked if I could photograph their gorgeous little baby boy, Henry Arthur, who was born back in July.

Last week I visited Henry and Emma to take some natural portraits of them at home. Despite starting to teeth, Henry was a fabulous model (as was his mummy ) and did great in his first professional shoot!

Congratulations again to Emma and Tom – Henry is a little cutie. Here are some favourites from the shoot.

winter wedding photography at the lanesborough hotel, london

I love winter weddings - especially in London - where the elegance and glamour of the city really comes alive in the low light. Even when it rains, the reflections of the city lights provide a wonderful backdrop. I am sure this is something Victoria and Brenden had in mind when they chose to get married at The Lanesborough Hotel in Knightsbridge in November. This fabulous venue is perfect for a city wedding come rain or shine, or - in our case - a late winter's afternoon.

Victoria chose to get ready at the equally stylish Sloane Club in Chelsea, while the evening was spent eating well at The Bull and Last in Highgate - which serves some amazing food. We loved all of the wonderful details of this wedding, from the beautiful vintage veil and the Manolo Blahnik shoes, to the personalized cupcakes and gingerbread men - this was a wedding full of style and personal touches. Here some highlights from the day.

wedding photography at st. peter's church, ealing + the cavendish, eastcote

Lauren and Simon got married on a beautiful Autumn day in October. There are so many lovely homemade touches that went into this wedding - from the groom making the cake (which he spent many an evening practising!), to the artwork, stationary and table plans made by Lauren's dad.

The day itself started with Lauren and her bridesmaids getting ready at their flat in Ealing, a stones throw away from St. Peter's Church where the ceremony was held. The church is a hidden gem and, UK weather permitting, it's beautiful interior can get illuminated by the sun at certain times of day through the large back window. Although the sun was going in and out all day, it shone right on cue as Lauren walked down the aisle - a really wonderful moment!

We headed to The Cavendish in Eastcote for the reception on an old routemaster bus. After some congratulatory drinks, Lauren and Simon headed outside to make the most of the fading light (and intermittent rain!) to get some portraits against the Autumn colour. The day ended with a twist on the traditional first dance with a ballroom-tap dance combo, which the couple had been carefully planning over the last few months.

Here is a little wedding photo slideshow to music of their day.

hindu wedding ceremony photography at bhaktivedanta manor

I was so honoured to be asked to photograph Kajal & Richard's traditional Hindu ceremony at the Hare Krishna Temple - Bhaktivedanta Manor - in Watford in September. Although this was the first Indian wedding I had photographed, I love new challenges - especially those that promise to have so many wonderful details and colour. It didn't disappoint. It was a beautiful day and I hope that this will be the start of many asian weddings I am involved in.

I promise to post the full wedding sometime (or get in touch if you want to see the full gallery), but for now here are some of my favourite portraits from the day.

engagement shoot at southbank and borough market, london

Kim & John chose an early morning photoshoot along London's Southbank for their pre-wedding photoshoot. The London 2012 Olympics were well under-way, so we were treated with colourful bunting, flags, and Wenlock - one of the London 2012 mascots. It was a beautiful morning as we walked, talked, and photographed our way along the Thames to Borough market.

pre-wedding photography at smithfield market, london

Walking through Smithfield market on the way to meet Laura and Osgar for a coffee ahead of their engagement shoot, I knew the phone boxes in the market hall were a great place to head for a few shots. Little did I know that Laura was going to be wearing a lovely blue dress and red shoes - a combination that makes the market images that extra bit special! In fact, I'm particularly proud of this pre-wedding photoshoot as the image above achieved a Gold Award at the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers. Yay!
