country house wedding photography at latimer place, chesham

Last month we had the honour of photographing Farah & Rob's double wedding celebration - a fabulously colourful ceremony at Stanmore Mosque on the Saturday evening, followed by a country house civil ceremony at the gorgeous Latimer Place in Chesham the next day.

Saturday evening really was a feast of colour - but particularly Farah and the bridal party - with their beautiful saris, jewellery, and intricate henna painted on their hands. As men are not allowed into the women’s part of the mosque during services, I asked friend and fellow wedding photographer Chelley Wildman to join me to cover Farah's ceremony.

Covering a mosque wedding ceremony was a first for us and it was a huge privilege to be asked to photograph the day. After the official marriage contract signing there was plenty of rejoicing and hugging (along with tea and cookies!) before Rob & Farah and the guests headed off by car to Farah’s family home for the traditional pot smashing and gift giving - and plenty of photos of course!

Rob and Farah were already up and ready to go again early the next morning at Latimer Place when we arrived. The venue is a magnificent Victorian mansion house with beautiful views over the Chess Valley in the Chiltern hills. Although we had been there to capture the celebrations until after midnight the day before, it turned out Farah & Rob had both been up until 4am! Showing no signs of fatigue, the happy couple - this time wearing a stunning traditional white wedding dress and men's formal morning suits - turned out with their family and friends for a wonderful day full of fun, laughter, and some beautiful touching moments. Here are a few highlights.
